VW polo 1995 speaker system, £170????

I have a VW polo 1995. I want to upgrade the speaker system which is currently none existent!! I want a headunit, speakers, and sub. So I found the following package deal for 170.

Sony GT Package with 400w 6x9s and 1200w sub enclosure and amplifier
Sony CDX-GT410 + JA590 + JS694 + GTO1204BR

http://www.caraudiocentre.co.uk/prod...br_p-23308.htm

Is this any good? It costs £170; are there any other packages that you would advise me to purchase instead, for the same sort of money?

Also would the speakers in this package be installed into the parcel shelf?

Thanks

i would say you install the system yourself mate

does the stuff have to be new?

for that sort of cash you could get yourself some half decent second hand stuff which would sound better

ebay is a good start aswel as looking on the private sales etc

to be totally honest i wouldnt waste the cash, especially at that place. the power figures are very unlikely and sony are not best known for car audio.
as al said ebay can be a good place to pick up some top brand gear quite cheap but you need to know what your looking for. then theres forums where people are selling stuff but same again you need to know what you want.
you could always pay a visit to our friends at source sounds who would be able to suggest what to buy for the budget you have. if you tell them your from maxxd they will sort you out a deal.

With the sound system that i suggested, would the speakers (Juice JS694 4-way speakers) go into my parcel shelf?

Also when the amp says 2 channel, what does that mean. Does it mean that i wont be able to run these speakers through the amp, only the sub?

Thanks

Seriously dude...

Take your £170, and go to source..

Or ring them!

They will advise you on what is best, what works together, and will NOT just try and take your money off you and let you lieave with any old tripe!

MOST other ICE dealers are simply salesmen, who will sell you whatever you have on the shelves!

Source will advise you, and even tell you to go away and have a think - they will never push a sale and will ALWAYS work in your best interest!

if you wanna WASTE £170, then by all means, go to CAC.. haha.. cac.. Icon_lol

to put it blunt those speakers are a waste of money.
for reference though a 2 channel amp means that its got 2 channels ie it will run 1 speaker on the left hand side and one on the right. most 2 channels can be bridged (eg.positive of channel 1 and negative of channel 2) and then you can run a sub.

and yes 6x9 speakers would more than likely be fitted to your parcel shelf but theres no need for them as 6x9s suck.

as said before SOURCE SOUNDS! ask for lee or paul but saying that their all a sound bunch.

RE: VW polo 1995 speaker system, £170????

1 set of speakers for the front & a sub is all you need mate. (& an amp to power it all of course)

if your planning on having a nice system, why not take your time & buy things as & when you can afford them. rather than spending your 170 on everything, why not buy some better bits now. maybe get some speakers for the front, with an amp & some good quality cabling. when you have a bit more, get a second amp & a sub. just make sure if you do go about it this way, your cabling is good enough for future developments, not just what you first put in.
