Volvo V40 -looked beyond redemption...
Well, here was one to test me.
A Volvo V40 in silver that had had a minor accident at some time and had been resprayed to a high standard, apart from a few noticable bits..... Anyway, the top and the bottom was that it had a few minor battle scars and scratches, the engine bay was pretty filthy and the (leather) interior needed a good clean up. First up was to clean the exterior, so out with the trusty snow foam, which was left to dwell for 5 minutes before removing. The paintwork was then washed by hand ( 2 bucket method) from top downwards, and then rinsed by hand. The alloy wheels were cleansed using Redberry Juice, which was left on for 5 minutes before removing. The underbonnet area was cleaned with my (secret) degreaser, which again was left on for 5 minutes and then rinsed. A quick look with the 'SunGun' revealed that there were was a plethora of swirls, and some deeper scratches that needed attention. The basis of the car was fairly sound, although due to the different level of scratches, it meant that I would need a medium cut polish, with a lightter cut polish on the majority of the paintwork. Took the opportunity to use Hex-Logic pads to apply the polishes - stunning results obtained, and they really preclude the paintwork being 'burnt' if too judicious use of the pad/polish is used... Next up was claying the paintwork using Dodo Juice Supernatural Clay and SuperLube. Hardwork, but good results achieved! Then on with the polish, applied using the Hex Logic pads. The interior plastics were cleansed using Green Clean, and then after removing by hand, 303 Aerospace Protectant was applied. Back to the paint work, which was finished off by an application of E-Z Creme (left on for 20 mins before removal), 2 layers of JetSeal )again, left on for 20mins each coat, then removed) and finally some E-Zyme Wax. Thanks!
Still not got the hang of doing 'Macro' on a digital camera, and due to the time I finished it, couldn't get any images of the interior (black leather, black carpets, dark evening... you get the picture) J29M1- Self Service Centre

And just for good measure, going to be doing a black LandRover over the weekend - plenty of scratches and swirls, so it will probably start off with some farecla G3 on a heavy-cut Hex-Logic pad........

Well, I must be doing something right, had a well-known exotic car specialist contact me, went over yesterday and they want me to have a go at the odd ferrari, BMW and Porsche for them.
If all goes according to plan, I'll post up images on here. J29M1- Self Service Centre
