Stretching tyres

I have a set of 8Jx18" Porsche Cayenne rims in my garage which I was going to fit to the truck, but the need for some silly wide wheel adapters to correct the PCD and ET52 offset to around ET37, new bolts and the like has put me off a bit. So I am looking at selling them, either without tyres or with a set of low profiles.

Here's the style:

However, yesterday I was offered a set of nice rims, very wide and at a decent price. They are Projektzwo R1's - 8.5J x18" and 10Jx18" (front and rear). They are also the right 5x112 stud pattern and ET39 offset (close enough).

New rims:

So, similar style, easier fit and that bit madder than the Porkers!

Having fitted 10"s to a previous bus I know they will go on and because mine is a pickup this time, it won't foul the sliding door.

Question is, will the tyres from the Cayenne (new 255/55R18) stretch onto these wheels or am I going to have to buy wider rubber for the rear?

them wheels rule!

i think you'd be alright tbh.. but id get that confirmed from someone who fits tyres!

Ive seen some MAD streches in my time.. but always on much smaller wheels..

yeah easy, they will fit and give a nice stretch.

for example on my rh wheels, im running a 205 tyre on a 9inch rim!! and that is a mega stretch, so you shud get a similiar stretch with a 8inch tyre on a 10inch rim.

If the tyres on them are any good I will run them for a bit (though its going to look a bit Chelsea Tractor for me!) till I can get a clear picture on the Cayenne tyres.
