Steering problem

I've got an issue with my steering, everytime i turn hard i get a fuuny/wierd noise coming form the steering column i think.

As anyone got any idea what it could be?

It also happens when im just standing and i turn the wheel form left to right i get a strange noise, sounding like its coming from the steering wheel or column.

I had a quick look at the steering column and i have a part on there from mitsubishi (i drive a vauxhall) which seems a little strange.

Don't worry Mitsubishi make more than just cars, sounds like you've got a problem with the Electronic Power Steering on the car, whats the noise sound like?

Screeching, banging etc?

When you put the car on full lock though the pump will whine anyway, and if you've got a slipping belt it'l squeak its tits off.

Understeer: when you hit the wall with the front of the car.
Oversteer: when you hit the wall with the back of the car.
Horsepower: how fast you hit the wall.
Torque: how far you take the wall with you.

dave had a grinding noise from his steering wheel in the polo..

it was the disk that connects all the electrical shit on the steering wheel, as your wheel turns they couldnt have wires so have a disk that turns instead..

worth a try if its not the electronic power steering motor
