RE: Should i go Jap
Firstly, yeah go Jap!
If you're in to the whole FWD thing then you'll not get much better than an EP3 Civic. Modding wise the sky's the limit; companies like Spoon, AEM, Buddy Club and Mugen make offer enough aftermarket parts to bankrupt you 3 times over
The rawer option would be a DC2 or DC5 Integra as they are more bias towards the stripped out lightweight racer type machine that the Type-R badge is supposed to represent, but the Civic is still a good car. I'll be honest, I don't get the big "V-tec" excitement where people suggest that your neck will snap like a twig and your bowels will empty through every available body cavity once it gets to 25,000 rpm or whatever it is but it's certainly a reliable system, and a lot more exciting than a Corsa.

Im 20, 1yr NCB. Can pick one of them up for 5k, just had £1900 spent on rebuilding engine, i know the owner and work with him, i know the cars reliable and very good condition as i get a lift to work off him.
Vtec...
all that needs to be said
EP3 is only Vtec ive been in, and its a really good system, as youve got econmy if you want it, 6gears with the EP3, and obviouslly wanna go fast, get it upto 5,000rpm or wherever.

Get a rusty old MK2 polo!
Yeahhhhh!
You could paint it green, remove 2 wheels and have a super sized wheelie bin!

RE: Should i go Jap
they are quick but like everyone says "i was gone by time vtec kicked in" main problem is if your rolling start and vtec isnt in the power aint there i noticed this when i raced lee westwood when out a vtec i pulled away when he was in vtec lef tme for dead. Personally the CTR is my last choice of jap cars cos its fwd and only civic i would have is ek9.If anything try a DC2 or if ya budget can go that far deffo a dc5 lees left my 325 dead on a rolling start at 100mph (private road officer) and pulled away quite easily.

RE: Should i go Jap
I think.....Your mind should be made up
Jap it is!
It will happen to everyone given time, its like puberty some start earlier than others...Once your have had Jap, you wont go back (Unless your meatball who likes Pimpin.)
1. Top 100 Show Car 2. 13 sec 250+bhp RWD monster 3. Daily runabout well detailed 4. New Toy..The Track Car - but i know fuck all about this scene........
Understeer: when you hit the wall with the front of the car.
Oversteer: when you hit the wall with the back of the car.
Horsepower: how fast you hit the wall.
Torque: how far you take the wall with you.
