Please help with selling a car documents
How stupid can I get
I am selling my car tomorrow and I have just checked been checking the documents which I have with the car (the ones that state what type of car it is etc and the evidence it is mine. I have noticed I have only got the old bit which has section 9-11 on it when I bought the car. Meaning I have lost/misplaced the new keepers book which has the bit I should give to the new buyer.
I have documents proving the car is mine I.E a piece of the keepers book, Mot Certificates, tax letters.
With the DLVA phone lines closed so I don’t know if I can still sell the car with out the registed keeper’s book. I don’t want to mess up the deal because the person is coming from Birmingham can I give him the documents I have and the evidence confirming the car is mine with a letter which will be given to him and a copy sent to the DVLA explaining he is now the new keeper of the car and the old keepers book has been lost will this be ok
Sorry to go on but I am really F***** off with how stupid I am
thanks

you can see him the car without a log book, & he can then apply for one as the new keeper.
incidently, the person named on the 'log book', is the registered keeper. that doesn't actully mean that person owns the vehicle. it's 2 very different things.
