RE: people's opinion on these
when was the last time you removed a bolt form an engine? things like that DO happen.....
and whats wrong with buying cams from ebay? many reputable sellers sell top make cams such as kent and shrick on ebay.... just cos they are off ebay, doesnt make them bad
Im not a whimpy girl thank you... had my corsa engine in pieces many of times. Yes things like that do happen... not on every bmw engine ever. lol
And as for buying from ebay... yes there are some reputable sellers on ebay... however there are some twats too... and unless you really know what you are after and looking for then you could buy some fucked up shit.

RE: people's opinion on these
any performance engine is recommended a recent oil change every 6months or 6k depending on age etc.
1.8 arent really a nippy engine but as said 2.8 or 3.5 would sing!

RE: people's opinion on these
Every engine should have a regular oil change!
E36's never came in a 3.5 version.

Depending on how much you're wanting to spend.
BMW's cost a fortune to tune.
What do you want performance or aesthetics?

RE: people's opinion on these
Tuning wise there's not alot you can do apart from breather and big bore throttle body. Then there's m3 cams after that looking at supercharger which ain't cheap for bmws if done right

RE: people's opinion on these
personally i would suggest keeping the styling simple, subtle but stylish. lowered on some nice rims. if you get a silver bm i think they look good with colour coded bump strips.
because the e36 has been around since 1990 theres loads of aftermarket products available regarding mods, aswell as quite a few specialist breakers for cheaper parts.
to get some ideas/inspiration pick up a copy of performance bmw magazine and/or get searching the net/forums etc. each to their own at the end of the day.
