new car
help me please!!!
im looking to sell my car and buy something different. Im only looking to spend around 2grand. The car needs to be reasonable on insurance (had 2 convictions in a year) So nothing more than a group 4 car. Just want something with decent looks and faster than a punto 1.2 8valve (not hard) any ideas? |

Sorry Ste I know you were trying to help but that list is bit general. lol. Only use that as a VERY loose guide. Car groups are very misleading in the current insurance market.
All Insurance companys have different scales. One company could have a car as a group 4 and the next one could have it as a group 8 or even more also it says, for eg. Renault Clio's are group 2 ??????? What ??? all of em ??? If thats the case I'm guna go and buy a Clio V6 tomorrow. lol Best thing to do is just have a look round get a couple or three cars in mind and ring your insurance for an exact quote. Thats my advice. You could look at that list, and buy a car based on a group 4 and when you ring your insurance it could be a group 8 and cost you a packet. Alanman

Ok, that might have been a bit vague.
Parkers used car guide has more detailed information with exact make and model of car and the group of insurance. http://www.parkers.co.uk/insurance/Groups/ Have a look on there and then when you have chosen a car your interested in, get a quote before buying.

any comments (good or bad) on the clio 1.4 16 valve or 1.6 16 valve around 2001? i was going looking at the 1.4 sport clio but looking at performance figures the 1.4 16 valve is more powerful? is this right please comment back insurance is affordable on the 1.4 16 valve and sport |

go for the 1.6 if you thinking of a 1.4 and a 1.6, else you'll only end up swapping it in a years time
i had a clio RSi 1.8 and it was quick ![]() Need some alloy wheels? Find car styling companies in the UK The latest modified car news |

cheers pal!!
yeah i would like the 1.6 im just unsure about how much the insurance is il get a quote when got time I just know I can easily afford the 1.4 sport and 1.4 16 valve so hopefully the 1.6 should be ok too. |
