Mk2 golf exhaust

Hi,

Im looking to make my car sound a bit more juicy.

I was thinking about changing the back box and adding a K&N air filter.

Would anyone recomend the front box aswel?

the car does not have a cat.

Cheers

RE: Mk2 golf exhaust

Just fit a GTi system and if it doesn't mate up directly get your local exhaust place to make an adapter.

RE: Mk2 golf exhaust

the diameter of the gti exhaust is larger than that of your 1.6 driver, so obviously will not be a direct replacement.

the shape, and mounting points are identical, so here the good part - theres a company that makes a sleeve to allow you to fit a gti system onto your driver's downpipe, i thinks its volksbits, but ill let you do the searching.

with a gti system and a k&n you should see a bit of a power increase, and the sound will be nice, especially if you get an aftermarket backbox?

i had a full stainless magnex system on my gti 8v with twin round tail pipes, and a low revs it sounded 'powerful' but not too loud, but when i gave it the beans up too about 4500-5000rpm the sound changed and sounds evil!

hope this essay helps mate lol.
