Yea great news!

Just an idea widdo is it worth taking your rocker off and visually checking them against yours as everyone is convinced yours is camm'd.

This is what i call a proper project thread and nice to see maxxd members chipping in to help each other out!

I doubt very much you'd be able to see by eye the difference between standard and fast road cams whilst fitted. Easiest way to check would be to take the filler cap off and stick a dial gauge in......turn the engine over (by hand ideally) and check the lift; compare it to the standard spec (must be on the net somewhere) and you'll know once and for all.

Depends where they are from, they might just have a serial number on or something. In that case it'd be hard to know if they are aftermarket or just Pug. I had a Piper cam in my old Mk1 Escort and that just had a part number on it, unless you knew what you were looking at it was hard to tell the difference. There may well be though, it's just easier to stick a gauge on and measure the lift rather than pulling the valve cover usually.

iv had a look at them through the filler cap bit. compared to jaks vts, the width of mine are slightly wider, if that means owt?

it could well be cammed. it runs 1/4's bout the same as a TBd one so it must have something done lol.

ste - where u getting it mapped?

I have ordered my cams from here hiflow heads performance head specialists

They are made by a company called newman cams, The guy @ hiflow recommended the stage one as that will give me the most performance inline with the mods i currently have.

The stage one cam will give me more low to midrange power, which TBH is what iam looking for.

this is the blurb from the data sheet on the cam :

Its says that the stage one would be best suited to my car as the stage 2 will not run on std injection

Yeah, front cam cover is like 8 or 10 bolts then just lift it off, as long as your careful you shouldn't tear the rubber seal

I will prbably end up at chipwizards. I've heard some good stories about some of the stuff they do up there.
