Throttle bodies are good because the fuelling is a lot more precise, plus they flow more air...which is why they produce more power. Pretty similar to a set of twin Weber carbs, only without the horrendous fuel economy (the beauty of throttle bodies is electronic injectors so the engine can be mapped properly).

It's a bit of a stretch to say they are as good as a turbo though (e.g. a n/a 2ltr Ford YB with throttle bodies makes about 300bhp, a turbo'd YB can make 850+bhp)

DONT go TB's. when curt had his done. it wasnt overly fast. i wouldnt say it was as fast as mine. He spent £5000 on full setup for them fitted. Also if u look in this months redline, theres a saxo with jenvey 40mm bodies on it. he only managed a 14.49 1/4mile.

I wuldnt compare ur car to type r's. there nothing special down the strip.

if it was me, save more and go for the turbo and GMC.

also curts car wreaked of fuel when he had bodies on lol. u no u wanna turbo it lol.

just as a comparison.

Turbo conversions done properly cost nearly twice that of ITB's

i dont know exactly how much TB setup is fitted, all i no is curt payed £5000 lol. which seems way to much.

are u going for speed, or just the fact ur making a mint car so want the engine to match?

the TBs sound mint and look good, but iv never been wowed by any one iv seen performance wise.
