RE: just saying hi
Mate if you are planning on drifting DONT buy a minter like mine
Id like nothing more than to abuse it like TJ and Stu but its THAT mint that its a waste and a shame!
But one that you will be comfortable abusing!
Maybe try and older S13 first, get good at it then upgrade?
if you need to know anything mate or wanna have a look round mine come find me!
Oh yea and im the ticket man!
yea i no wot your saying mate but i dont wont the fuker braking down on me every week end. i looked round most of the cars at that dwyb meet and there all shaged on the out side. tj had pulled his wing out by hand to go lower and topo and stu had a slaper which nearly took the paint of the sides of there cars.
just a good strong engine is wot iam after. s13 int my thing eather my aswell put all my money in to the one i wont the most.
now tickets how much 4 the next 1 think its modified nationals just for me?

RE: just saying hi
£35 for you mate will be out wednesday night as usual
Yea i hear you there strong engines the SR when treated right, Lee aka Eightsmokingbarrals has given me loads of help as they are very sensitive to fueling, although TJ told me last night he is running his standard pump!
Higher milage with regular oil changes is what your looking at, mines only done 39k!
And im not an S13 man myself but if you were wanting to try it you can picke em up for 500-800 quid!

RE: just saying hi
Well..stage one ish technically the FMIC aint stage 1
Zorst:
Nur Spec cat back £480 - on my car
De Cat £50 - on my car
Front Pipe £100
Filter
Apexi £80 - on my car
Plugs
Denso IK24's £35 - on my car
Pump
Walbro 255 £70-£100
FMIC
Type 1 £250-£300 - In my Shed!
Stage one Remap is £300
...Check http://www.h-dev.co.uk
i also have an adjustable boost controller set to 12-13psi atm cant go more until pump and FMIC is on!
For stage 2 thats where the FMIC comes in along with another remap and some bigger injectors good for the 300bhp mark
Then theres stage 3..new turbo time, air flow meter ect
and stage 3a...internals and shit
The top stage cars are running near 500bhp
Check SXOC.com for loads more info

RE: just saying hi
Autos are definitely worth considering at the minute, with the price they're going for at the moment it's worth buying one and doing a manual trans swap. The autos are usually less likely to have been mullered too.
As for tuning, exactly what Ollie has said; best bet is to follow the h-dev "stage" system, it's a doddle. My old one was at stage 2 with a custom map and made 328bhp and never missed a beat. Stage 1 will get 240bhp all day long and in a relatively light body like the S14 will let you you drift it around with ease...at least until skill levels increase and you need to carry more speed whilst doing it.
Ollie already mentioned it but always be careful with fuelling. That bloke may be running a standard pump but he's gambling big time and may soon enough join the list on the SXOC of all the other failures....if he's lucky he'll keep his pistons.
The standard brakes are dog shit but uprated ones are pretty cheap in fairness and are really good, Z32 300ZX stuff goes on though with a bit of fettling. Standard suspension is a bit soggy but coilovers for the SX are some of the cheapest around, I think K-Sport ones are only £500ish on a good day and transform it. If the budget won't stretch that far than a set of lowered springs, uprated shocks and an alignment kit from Apex are a good choice. The rear subframe bushes are prone to going soft too and can cause the back end to move around a bit, but again locking collars or complete solid alloy mounts are available to sort that.
Hope you find a good 'un.

RE: just saying hi
Well SR20DET lumps are as reliable as they come providing they are looked after properly. Treat 'em right though and they'll go forever. Forgot to mention...if you're planning on bouncing it off the limiter while drifting it's worth the extra insurance of fitting rocker arms stoppers too. I did them on on mine and I must admit it's a bit of a pain in the arse, but well worth the piece of mind knowing your valve train is a bit more stable.
