Jap piggy ecus TRUST E-Manage Ultimate Question
Just bought myself a TRUST E-Manage Ultimate (also a laptop to control it lol) and was wondering has anyone used one?
If so whats your best tips for it and the best 2 maps you've found (to store one it)? Spider-pig, spider-pig, does whatever a spider-pig does, can he swing, from a web, no he can't, he's a pig. http://demp.se/y/downloads/SpiderPig.mp3 |

TBH mate, im not sure anyone is at the level of tune you are and would have used such kit.
Better off on the jap forums or MR2 forums? Unless Topo, SaintAII or Jody has a clue i think your on your own! 1. Top 100 Show Car 2. 13 sec 250+bhp RWD monster 3. Daily runabout well detailed 4. New Toy..The Track Car - but i know fuck all about this scene........ Understeer: when you hit the wall with the front of the car. Oversteer: when you hit the wall with the back of the car. Horsepower: how fast you hit the wall. Torque: how far you take the wall with you. ***Nissan 200SX S14a 203.2bhp 194.6lbft - 13.89@100.60***

My 200SX had E-manage fitted when I bought it, I just flogged it 'cause it causes quite a few problems on the SR20DET. All it does is ups the duty cycle % on the injectors, I think they're only good for around 350bhp.
If I was going for an aftermarket system I'd use a Power FC as the way it controls the management is quite a bit different to the Trust/GReddy system. Power FC is a stand-alone system that takes full control, where as the GReddy unit just "fiddles" with the stock ECU's outputs, so it's limited to what the standard equipment can handle in the first place. My only dealings are with the standard and "blue" systems rather than the Ultimate but I know with those two that they're only recommended to handle injectors 150% larger than standard (again due to the original ECU limitations, 555cc is the absolute max from memory), bigger than this and it'll run lean and burn. It works by altering the air flow sensor voltage so that the ECU thinks more air is going in and so increases the amount of fuel (via upping the duty cycle of the injectors). There are limits to how much it can increase the level and also there are issues with ignition timing as the ECU thinks there is more air and fuel than there actually is and adjusts the timing to suit. Problem is the exacting amounts may be different (especially air), so timing adjustments maybe required too, as Emanage can't adjust the ignition map at all. I understand that the Ultimate can control the ignition map now, but I'm not sure to what extent, there seems to be very little knowledge of the system really, and as far as I know of with Nissan stuff at least, there are no proven big power figures from it. If it'll handle ignition, fuelling and knock control then it will work, but I think it's a specialist job. As far as mapping goes, I think you're probably better off going somewhere to get it done, rather than risk knackering your engine up "having a go". I know it has the auto map system to get you going, but any fine tuning I'd say you should try and find someone experienced with the new version. The little I do know about the Ultimate is that the auto function is very much a "get you going" map and will need a lot of tweaking for each individual application. To be honest, looks like you're on your own a bit! The Trust/GReddy stuff is very user friendly, but personally I don't know anyone who's actually taken the time to find out what the Ultimate can do. *insert witty remark here* rogersausage.wordpress.com |

I've had the same problems, asked questions on lots of forums, but nobody has ever replied. There must be someone out there thats using it. It does have its limitations, but as piggybacks go "on paper" it looks really good as you can alter fuel and ignition maps. Also the ability to swap back to the standard map, basically bypassing the GReddy unit, at anytime has its advantages for someone just starting out with mapping . Mapping is something I want to learn, and a kit like this seems like a good place to start, but alot of research needs to be done on forums such as OpenECU before messing with anything and lots of gauges are also needed to keep an eye on the state of the engine. I think the e-Manage has data logging, but its always best to see whats going on, almost as its happening rather then to log it all and view later. Later could be too late for your engine.

I'm really on my own as i've gone for 800cc injectors and everything else and I can't buy the Power FC as it does not work with the rev 1 mr2
I think i'll give the system ago and if it doesn't work then i'll just flog it on ebay. The jap guys are giving me loads of help tho for parts i need and how stuff works. I really wanted the e-01 but it dosn't work with the ultimate so i'm using the aem one. I'm going to get it maped by themes valley turbos are there just down the road from me Spider-pig, spider-pig, does whatever a spider-pig does, can he swing, from a web, no he can't, he's a pig. http://demp.se/y/downloads/SpiderPig.mp3 |
