J27 just been on news
J27 has just been on the news with helicopter footage and stuff of people racing round it, theres an injunction on the place now. Anyone caught meeting there could face jail apparently.

yeah but to be honest driving stupidly fast around roundabouts and down a 800 meter straight on public roads may be fun to some but its f***ing stupid! what happens when a car comes off the road and kills someone, or some idiot drives into a family on their way home off coming off the M1, and takes their lives,

you say they should be stopping people with guns, but a car is just as dangerous in the wrong hands as much as a gun is tbh, so I can see why they are targeting all those up there, and the more people go to watch the more it spurs others to dive like fools etc etc.
There is a reason track days are organised lads n lasses,

tom

Trackdays we have to pay for out our own pockets, the majority of people who go up there are sensible drivers, theres just those few assholes who try and show off. If they gave a shit so much about it they would hire somewhere out using the goverments money for a day for us to goto on a weekend or something, or locate some private land in the region we can goto park up and chill.

Im sorry but using paying for a track day as an excuse for using the roads as a race track is pathetic mate. If you loved racing that much you wouldnt be a tight fisted git and would pay.
If people come and spoil it for you move location to somewhere out the way, but the reason you gather up their is to race up and down the road isnt it, which at the end of the day is putting others lives at risk like ive stated before, and illegal, do you think the government would provide an area for people to shoot each other no and to me its the same with the cars, they wont do it, so accept this go to track days if you want to race and stop acting like complete tw*ts putting my life at risk and others!

You hit the nail on the head there Tom. In the past I have been up there and spectated which makes me as bad. The amount of cars that go up now are crazy and way out of hand

surely it's not that few twats race round up there, spoiling it for everyone?
people go up there watch the cars racing. if they didn't want to see the 'drifting', they wouldn't leave LSOM to go to J27.

I can see it from both sides to be honest theres part of me that wants to say yer you shouldnt race on public roads its dangerous but i reckon most ppl who say that are hypocrits i reckon everyone on heres raced at sometime or other on public roads i dont care who you are and to be fair think most ppl`s got interested in cars from going fast in them or seeing others go fast-i dont see modifying as satisfying purely by just looking at a stationary car-im sure theres some nice motors at lsom however ive never been as ya see most stuff kicking about round town anyway.
Ive been going down town on an off for about 15yrs as a couple of our lot have(yer im old)an grew up when the circuit was a circuit no speed camera/cctv, nowhere near as many police and a lot more proper cars-cossies/r5gtt`s/205gti`s/rst`s/16v astra gte`s etc you get the picture-the majority of motors were these-so now picture jctn 27 in town coz thats what it were like, a crash most nights werent uncommon, its really hard to describe to ppl unless you were there.I remember going to court once for speeding only to be confronted by around 20 or more other lads i recognised from around the circuit all appearing in the same courtroom.
So do i think 27`s right or wrong-well its outta town so thats a start...................To be honest its a mixed bag it worries me a bit when average ppl drive through yer as they dont realise the speed some ppl are going however to an extent do believe ya can drive fast without being on the absolute limit and "to an extent" anticipate what an average drivers gonna do and realise what could happen, its naive ppl that think theyre invincible or dont realise what different road conditions mean to the capabilities of their car/or how their reaction time affects things that fuck things up,yer speed limits are there for a reason but in the real world how many ppl stick to them.

Think theyve gone a funny way about stopping it though-why didnt they just put a speed camera up either side of the road-ppl would have just lost interest after a while.

I agree however that somewhere off the road to meet an have a play about would be cool-could do with donnington park being open at nights at wkends for meets-would be a right laugh and ppl wouldnt mind paying if it werent daft money.

RANT OVER-ish

Just pisses me off when ppl on here wont admit they race on public roads "ever"when if ya go into town ya can see it most nights,i just dont believe when theres a couple of ya mates in another car ya dont have a play now an again.

Awaits the slating now but to be honest dont think im alone in my thoughts.
