Saz proberly means VW parts, Audi parts arnt cheap from what ive had to buy yet,

and yes two mongs deffinetly dont make a right.

In fairness to Sazzle she was making a general statement that prices on VW parts are reasonable on older models. That is the truth, I should know - I buy the bloody stuff every other day. GSF/Euro Car Parts and plenty of Ebay sellers offer general components at great prices, especially on older models.

That you chose a model that is quite complex in terms of the electrical system, drivetrain etc is not her fault - nor should your frustration at having to pay a high price for what is a high end part (hardly like its a standard Mk2 Golf clutch and flywheel is it?) be inflected upon her. Not being a 'Dubber' yourself by your own admission you probably weren't aware of the cost of the part before it broke. Every make and model has its failings and obviously you found one, just a shame its expensive.

There are forums with a healthy used parts trade going on and you might be able to get as flywheel at least cheaper than through a dealer. Admittedly a clutch should be new, but that is at least a wear and tear component common to most cars.

I had to replace a viscous coupling actuator on the Syncro a few months ago - its a rare, unique part to the 14" model, can only be bought from Germany through a specialist and was a b~&%~$d to fit but that's the price you pay for technology. In general the parts that usually break down such as ignition items, batteries, exhausts are fairly cheap.

Buy complex, pay the price eventually is the moral of the story.

I think an apology is in order.

And saying that she 'knows fuck all' is hardly the attitude to have towards other forum members. This club is struggling enough with petty infighting and lowered attendance over the winter without comments like that alienating ppl.

I like the new gen of dubbing like spenners toms bolf (some of his) and aidens anything older then a mk3 golf don't interest me one bit I just don't get the appeal like some do.

And as once said famously by les Ferdinand at a charity match against accrington Stanley in 2007 "jdm is not a look , it's a way of life"
