Coppers should be catching real criminals and leave boy racers alone. They are giving us a bad name and bad reputation.

Because statistically and more than likely they wont drive like tits!!
Sadly if it were a convoy the same as the ones we run in there is usually 1 or 2 nobheads who drive stupidly and put others in danger.

As for the comment about catching real criminals.....these idiots racing round in clapped out sheds and racing about are usually the ones that aren't insured, licsenced etc. So when they crash into other people (like us) they are more likely to do a runner. You'd soon be bitching if one of these morons hit you and disappeared.

Point taken but trust me 10% of them will have a little race. My mum and dad have done it before on their Harleys, 'cos the kid inside them just takes over for about 5 minutes lol

It's just a shame that in our "boy racer" population there are more than 10% that tit around.

I know what you mean Jess - went on a run in Yorkshire Dales with the owners club, around 10 cars iirc and we were driving 'spiritedly' although not stupidly and were chatted to by the Police once we had all stopped at a meeting place.

We were polite and receiving of their comments and after having a nosey round our cars (more out of interest it seemed) they just told us to drive safely and went on their way!!

The age range was spread and nobody was a dick to them and thus they were ok with us. It was obvious to the coppers we were 'enthusiasts' rather than 'boy racers'

the injunction isnt just to boy races,

they wording of it means it applies to all motor vehicles including motorbikes, driving dangerously, making excessive noise, and generally dicking around.

so in theory they could give one to a lambo driving round because of the noise, the likelyhood that they give injunctions out to anyone other than modified car owners is very unlikey and one that could be taken to court because of the wording within the injunction.

people driving at 70-80mph round a busy 30mph zone are real criminals in my opinion, if you crash theres a chance you'll hit some other innocent person too..the only person giving you a bad reputation is yourself and how you drive.
and if you class yourself as a boy racer then your probably as stupid as that post makes you sound.

people who know me will no i dont drive like a nun but i accept if i get caught doing it then i am in the wrong, not the police who are just out doing there job.

i was one of the first people to get a injunction along with olly on the first night, just something i accepted as i was driving round mansfield when i knew full well i wasnt suppost to be.

end of the day you only have yourself to blame for how many points/injunctions/times you've crashed whilst pissing about

i have one of the above in 6 years of driving so thats my rant over.

i agree with the dicking about side of things but like u said not everyone is a saint and drives perfectly everywhere and through every year of there life. but the way i see is it if your going to speed race etc then just dont get caught and the injunction hassle will stay away from you.

and i got my 1st injunction in town as a driver, and the 2nd driving home from donington as a passanger as stated, so we were mearly passing through and i had no control on jess going round again :@

i got threatened by an injunction and moved on and then when i was down around mansfield saw a fair few coppers parked up chatting and i pulled off as i needed to make a phone call where the coppers where,

they started nosing round my car checking tax etc and it pissed me off,

so i asked why they couldnt get an injunction for being in a convoy its the same thing tbh they cant tar everyone with the same brush and if they can it should apply to them lol

end of the day it applies to everyone but it will never ever be given to a police convoy because its the police that give them out

Sadly owning a modified car means you will always get extex attention, mostly because a lot of modders have stuff on there car that the law says they shouldn't - whether you agree with the laws or not!

Having your car fall in the rules and having a good attitude towards the coppers has never let me down. As you mentioned in another post, you were told to change your attitude by a copper, if they've already pulled you over don't give them more reason to ticket you!!

SGT Oliver, from Mansfield police certainly aint working on it anymore, and he handles the town centre..

And if you insist on driving like a dick on public roads, then don't moan when your car gets impounded and you get sent to prison
