Oooooo this is a good one,
Obviously im not in mansfield so i couldnt really answer that one,
I think it WAS a mansfield thing, i now think it should be a nottinghamshire thing!!
Successful meet would include -
Lights
Burger van but not needed,
big space
entertainment - music
Plenty of car clubs
and the most vital thing
police being on our side.
hope that helps

I'd personally travel anywhere
It needs to be tarmac / concrete
Light are a must.
Burger van is a nice touch but if not, as long as its close to any fast food outlets.
The burnout area works well IF well controlled and marshalled, but could end up backfiring if we're trying to put on a "non boyracer image" It only take one accident and you're back to square one if not worse.
Giving local companies a spot was a good idea like when we had XXXtreme there or Source. I'm sure people like TOPGEAR would be up for something like that, they're actively pushing there image at the minute. Or maybe ripspeed. It broke up the manoteny.
Every now and again something indoor would rule, maybe when we're doing a charity month. There must be a big empty warehouse somewhere in the area that we can talk to.

Hmmmmmmmm.............
I personally would travel pretty much anywhere in Nottinghamshire to be honest, it's only one night out of the month after all.
I'm with Alanman on the tarmac and lights, both are an absolute must I reckon.
As far as the burnout/dragstrip thing goes, I think it's a recipe for disaster and if someone gets hurt (be it participant or spectator) where will the reprocussions lie? I think it's far too risky without proper precautions and I again agree that it could shed a negative light on the image of the club.
I'm not sure if the burger van is a neccessity, but it's definitely nice to be able to grab a drink and some snap, unless of course there are facilities at hand close by.
I think more clubs being in attendance would be good too, perhaps give out an invitation for a different club every month? That way maybe they'd reciprocate the offer and provide Maxxd with different venues to visit too. Just a thought.
I agree that music would be nice, as long it's not too imposing though, after all you're there to check out the cars and talk bullshit with people, you don't want drowning out.
What is a must though is naked models, I just can't see how it'd be right without them!

Nice one guys!
SO a regular meet, and then every so often when we wanted to raise cash for charities, have a bigger one? Like at the rothercruise location they have, that warehouse thing?
And as long as there is food nearby your OK with that..
Any more ideas?
Also, please PM any suggestions for locations!!

Need alloy wheels?
Need modified car parts or performance car parts?

y does it have to be nottinghamshire? thats the only place they gave out injunctions, chesterfield, shirebrook etc are derbyshire. not a lot further to drive, and police are less likely to stick there noses in.
i wud travel anywhere though, as most shows are miles away anyway. needs to be a place easy to find

I dont mind travelling anywhere local derbys/notts as im between both
Just the lights would be good unless there is so many cars that it wouldnt matter due to the number of headlights
I think the worst idea is to have a burn out/dick about area. Just think about it your trying to promote legal cruises to do illegal things there Dont thing that would go down well with the local police And if a accident was/when to happen what happens then ?? You think 2 young lads are going to exchange details smoothly or is it going to be "ill get me mates round to sort you out?" Then there is the other side of it which happens a number of times in ED car park with certain folks (who know who they are) are burning out or sliding about flicking stones up I know for sure i wouldnt like my car let alone someone that has spent 1k's on there paint work.
Just a few pointers and my thoughts
PS........ I do have a location idea which is totally out in the open no houses Just slightly bumpy to get in but massive to say the least and its in notts
Dont play away when your mates around, because you might need a tow while your with ya hoe
