Help Me Good Mod went Bad

I took it upon myself to detrim the door protectors off my punto the other day once I ripped off the trims I was left with the challenge of getting off the silicone so I got the heatgun on the job and got it upto bout 300 degrees first side went perfect and looks shit hot there is a nice little crease line on the punto which is hidden by the trims however

once i started heating the other side ot oh the paint came straight off!!!!

Basically the previous owner did a small repair to the nearside door in which when I heated to 300 degrees the paint and filler came loose basically it now looks shit on the passenger side but the drivers side looks really good soooo...

what should I do??

Just admit defeat and put the trims back on?

Colour code the trims and put them back on?

Try and repair it myself for the laugh? (could be risky but its only like an inch square of paint which has been affected and what would be the best way to do this?)

Or can someone repair and does anyone have any idea how much?

And mainly if it was to be fixed would the repainted area match the existing paint?

What colour is the car mate?

Id have a go repairing it yourself..

It wont be hard, plus if you do it right, and keep your car clean the rest of the car will take the focus away from it Icon_smile

Metallic red or a normal red both would be tricky doing only part of a panel and even if youre painting a whole panel (normal red)it may look ok in the day but at night reds a bitch an you may find that it`l look orange-ish under certain light.Ive sprayed half my micras wing(runabout)and in the day ya cant tell at night though its blatantly obvious where its been painted.(again in the right light)

Front foot of the drivers side wings bin sprayed by me with an aerosol can, though were helped by a great colour match with halfords aerosols-scooby colours wayout however bought a can ages ago for driving light covers, maybe its just their metallics that are a crap match.

fucking hell i thought you were taking some trim off not welding. Theres no wonder the paint came off. Solder melts at a lower temperature than that
