heat wrap help.

how much exhaust heat wrap is needed to do the manifold and downpipe and wheres the best place to get it from.

it will either be mild steel or ss steel, cast iron is the std one.

But....

25m will do nearly 2 manifolds.

i have a lot of it spare from when i did mine.

Don't forget to get the metal ties as well and apply the wrap damp as it will fit better to the pipes.

Also, if i had to do mine again i'd not wrap all the way to the end of the manifold i.e the bit that goes under the engine. Speed humps and fields at shows soon made short work of ripping the wrap and it looked like i had trapped a tesco bag under my car.

just found out my manifold is steel so thats good.

where did u get the metal ties from ste.

wear gloves when doing it and something with long sleeves.

the glass fibres get all up your arms and you itch like mad for hours afterwards.
