Donny South 2007 Show Report

Well

After Saturdays trip to the Hull Motor Show we were all ready and prepared to go to donny south (After the trouble with Kates CC we made the sensible swap to the SX Icon_wink)

However nothing can really prepare you for seeing this:

Yes that is 4.18 AM!!!!!!!!!!!! time to get up!

I had packed the car night before and filled with fuel so all we had to do was pack food drink, get dressed and head to the meeting point (Ollerton).

A quick Txt To Clare/Alan and Smithy made sure they were up and still ok to go. (Carl/Cindy/Dave/Helen/Ste/Stacy had already made there way down to stay in a travel lodge)

Here we are at 4.50AM!!!!

The nissan got called Skinny car as it was travelling with Big Cab and the Wide V6 Clio!

a mixture of weather hit us rain then not, rain then not, rain...you get the idea! infact Newth was around 45mins ahead of us and would txt or ring when it was raining...it was always dry where we are..then he would say its stopped...and we would be driving through it!

Eventually got there after a maccies brekki (and smithy trying to burn it down) and waited for the hotelliers to join us!

Set up and cleaned the car..tried to dry it but it rained...and i tie Wrapped clares trophy to the nissan so she couldnt have it Icon_wink

hahaha

Weather wasnt Great..it was on and off rain but it didnt spoil it, we had milkshake and a BBQ and wandered round

Rain made the drifting a lot more exciting too with a few "Offs" i think smithy has some cool close ups!

Our brief Sunshine...

and the Stand...

We managed to shift a load of mags thanks to our sexy promo girls (Snigger)...

Waited till most left and then set off home.

Like that would be the end of the story....just before the A14 - dave and carl had gona ahead i get a phonecall....Alanman....Hi....We have run out of fuel...Doh!

Off i head through the rain buy a can fill it up, chuck a tenner of 97ron in mine to see me home (104.9 a litre!!!!) went back down the motorway and then back up to full it up..again through the rain.

Decided to stop for a coffee so alan could fill up with more fuel stayed about an hour dosed up on red bull and set off again...

Till just before A1....another Phonecall...alanman...I think a driveshaft has gone....Uh Oh

I pulled in to the next services..alan then phoned back saying it was ok to carry on so i decided it would be wise following him - by this time ste had headed off as it was getting on and he needed to be somewhere.

Eventually arrived at Chez Ollie around 9.30

Great show, Great Weekend, Great Cars!

Very Sweet Astra sat on the deck with colour coded everything

Old skool is cool...and this corrolla proved it!

Not often a kitted Pulsar works..but here it does a dream

Very cool Nissan 350z with gauges in the front bumper!

Turbo'd stripped rattle canned mk2 Astra..ACE!

Not massivly modified but looked shit hot Honda S2000

And finally one of xxx's last modified creations Fusion sponsored MGZR

Screw that, i wasnt queuing , even if it was a 20 mile detour.

Just been thinking, this was the longest drive ive done in the clio. The 260 miles to a tank wasn't too bad in my opinion!

About stabbings? Didnt see or hear anything of the kind, there were a couple of police cars as olly said but they were hardly in a rush

can i just ask y the award is taken everywhere with the cab? i think it would get praised alot more if it was looking to be "showing off" (im not saying that it is) i hav just heard people say it
