Ollie im sorry to jack your thread on thisIcon_rolleyes but dont wanna have to make another post on pretty much the same topic, does anyone know were i can get a clutch for my car?

Ditto.

My clutch is slipping and think I need a whole new one. Apparently they're hard to do in ka's and it's got a hydraulic one or summet? I also need another part for it aswell but have no idea what that is.

Just for the clutch been quoted £68 plus VAT from Davmac. Anyone know what the other thing is I need or if it'd be cheaper anywhere else? I know it's not expensive anyways but as i'm selling her I don't wanna be spending more than I need too.

In regards to Ollie's problem, I havn't the foggiest what all that stuff means so erm do what everyone else ses Icon_biggrin

RE: Clutch Question.....

£68 sounds very reasonable to honest, I'd go with that one!! Most clutches are hydraulic now so that's no big deal, ditto for the job; it's a bastard to do 'cause it's FWD but again, most cars are now (it pains me to type that! Icon_lol) so it's no more work than most modern motors.

As for the other bit, it's probably the release bearing. They come with most clutch kits anyway although it's best to ask. Failing that God knows...unless it's your flywheel?!

RE: Clutch Question.....

Apparently it's loads harder on a ka, fuck knows why!!

I need someone to look at it tbh 'cos its only £48 + VAT for the cluth without hydraulic thingy, so I don't wanna be buying summet that isn't right. Or that isn't needed!!

RE: Clutch Question.....

If the hydraulic "thingy" is the release bearing then you should replace it with the clutch yeah.

RE: Clutch Question.....

Cheers Guys..

Ive emailed the ebay seller to find out the model number/code of the 129 clutch so i can compare it on the exedy website..if it turns out ok then i will take it!

Not sure about fitting yet, ive had a quote of £70 to fit but Stu reakons its a very easy job and the pair of us can have it done in a couple of hours........but i cant afford to be fucking up another clutch..

As for your clutch mark i was under the impression the DE and DET had the same transmission and defo clutches....try a serch on the SXOC if your unsure

Yea it got me home, its japanese..it doesnt need a tow truck Icon_wink it was a little difficult but once rolling it was ok got a little warm and wasnt at its most economical but it got me back!

I've got a clutch alignment tool you can borrow if you decide to have a go yourself.

RE: Clutch Question.....

I've been told you can do that. But seeing as I don't know if it is or isn't hydraulic i'd have no idea how to adjust it lol

RE: Clutch Question.....

Yours is definitely hydraulic Jess so it's self-adjusting.
