My cars always been polished /waxed by hand,i do have access to a portercable orbital polisher(daz with the astra vxr`s got one)but have never used it,dont get me wrong my cars seen alot of different products just to see what products work/what dont but always by hand.

Some products work better on some colours than others,carnauba waxes generally work better on dark colours and i find synthetic waxes work better on light cars.

Polishing is crucial to get the best out of a wax,although i should use these more sonus sfx1/2/3 leave great results this were mine last summer after just sonus sfx2/3



After this tried the victoria concours wax i`d bought, just to show you how much difference it made........



Whilst slightly better werent the impact i were after and sold the wax to daz like i say some colours some waxes suit others dont.

Collinite 915 wax is instantly better on darker colours and some light ones.

Can also depend on the type of finish youre after-some give depth others just a glossy shine-ive been trying different waxes over each other lately to see if you can get the best of both worlds depending on the order ya put them on ya car.It does affect the results,as does how many coats of a wax you apply.

Colinite 915 and if im totally honest pinnacle xmt180 are my favourite waxes on my colour car for different reasons.

Collinite literally looks like another coat of laquer on your car and will always impress however can sometimes look a bit false-pinnacle xmt 180 just looks more of a natural shine however collinite will give better protection.

Bear in mind cars will want polishing first before getting results like these from the products mentioned
If your cars paintworks quite rough start with claying,i use meguiars quick clay although its getting too harsh to use on mine now an will be changing to sonus green soon.
I follow the claying(after washing car again to lose quickdetailer/clay residue)with poorboys professional polish,then sonus sfx1/2/3 if im feeling keen.

Next step would be a sealant-my favourites blackfire wet diamond all finish paint protection though on pics above it aint been used.

Glaze wise meguiars showcar glaze.

Then wax of choice Whichever i feel like

Will do a list of what i want in my car care kit soon on here anyway-as is ive got allsorts, some im just using to get rid of though.
