BigCab soon to be on TV

We were approached at Donny South last week by a couple of people for them to come out and do an interview with Clare about her car for a program called RIMZ to be aired on SUMO TV in October. They called us Tuesday last week to say they wanted to come up Monday morning to do the shoot.

We (that means me) was up 7.15 yesterday morning cleaning, hoovering, polishing ready for them to come at 9am. It got to 9.30 and we started to think it wasnt going to happen but they then phoned up to say they wern't far away. They'd set off from london at 5am so we'll let them off. hehe.

They arrived and we took them up to where we had the MAXXD photoshoot. This is when I got a little scared, 6 blokes and a woman climbing out of their people carrier at a disused pit. But they were a sound bunch and they was gobsmacked on how big the cab looked when you follow it and they loved the wheels. We were lucky with the weather to be fair cos it was nice and sunny to show off the colour and the wheels.

To be honest I expected them to just have a little hand-held camera, but I couldnt have been any more wrong. It was a very professional set up.

First off he went round the car doing all close ups of the wheels, exhaust interior etc.


Then Clare was told to stand at the front of the car looking as cool as she could and he walked round the car a couple of times.


Then they did the car on its own with what was called a steady cam. He put a ret funky body vest on with the camera mounted to this vest with springs and dampers so he could RUN round the car but the camera was as steady as a rock. Quite cool to watch really. I have a vid of this but its not very clear.

Then the good bit, the interview with one of the RIMS presenter called Scandelous. Their other presenter was there call Drama but he didnt go on camera.


They finished of by filming the car in motion. They attached a little camera to the car and sent Clare backwards and forward a few times pointing the camera at the wheels and down the side of the car. Then they all jumped in the van and drove at the side of her while filming a few more time.


They're going to let me know when its on but it'll be some time in October. Even if it ends up only being 5 minutes, the experience was great, seeing what goes on behind the scenes and everything. It was cool.

Thats him. I was stood talking to Drama during most of it. He has a Saxo on 19s. He's got some big plans for it.

Seriously though - all credit to you (and Alan) for all the hard work you have put into BigCab over the years.

Was nice to see it (and you) at ED. Hope its not so long next time.

Dave, the MAXXD sunstrip should get some major air time. It was directly behind them as they did the interview. So that should be good.

We're alway at ED Paul, its you that needs to get your finger out more. lol

Two mag features and TV appearence will do us for now Olly. One step at a time. lol.

We were there when a few Maxxd went on the Richard and Judy show a few years ago. So this is now BigCab's second TV appearance. hehe.

And I was on a documentary at school about rock climbing with Chris Bonnington too, as it happens, so this is my 3rd time. I'm getting possitively bored of all this TV mallarky........NOT.
