Over the last year or so Ive seen some covert cameras placed around Mansfield but still dont know what they are for. Ive just seen what looks like the latest one on New Mill Lane.

They are a square box with a lense in the center of the box and normally they have danger high voltage labels on them but this one hasnt its just plain. They dont have external antenae so i dont think they are transmitting video unless its low quality through 3G. I dont think they are big enough to record video but they could be recording images.

Im guessing they are either counting traffic or checking speeds etc?????

Does anyone know exactly what they are??

I know some of the smaller ones are to check traffic for radio etc..

So they can give accurate info on bad traffic areas!

might be worth taking it down and disecting it to see what it does
