Banning classic cars from our roads?
http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/Classic-Cars/
Please sign this.. Its atrocious! Why should the already f**ked up government dictate to us what we can and cant drive on our roads! We pay for the roads, so we should be able to drive what we like on them!!! http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/Classic-Cars/ ![]() Need some alloy wheels? Still worth supporting it though isnt it?
As the government will push the boat out with things like this, especially cos of global warming and shit.. I bet per square mile, there are more cars on the roads in the UK than any other island on this planet! Another thing, tax exempt cars make the government nothing.. So i DISagree with you im afraid! ![]() Need some alloy wheels? Find car styling companies in the UK The latest modified car news |

Saying that they do something along this line in Japan I think. That's why Japanese imported cars are nearly all L/M/N reg (10 years old). Car gets to 10 years old and the only way to sell it is to export.
Dont quote me but I'm sure that it got some truth.

lol. that would never happen. It cant be done, its discrimination for one, and i dont think most of england could afford a brand new car every so often. Could you imagine the money the government would lose on road tax! there wud be that many folk not driving. And where on earth wud all the cars be scrapped! the moon??? lol

olstar;48818 Wrote:Another thing, tax exempt cars make the government nothing.. They do mate.....petrol! Old cars in general use a lot more fuel than modern ones which mean more visits to the pumps and more fuel tax, plus think of all the VAT earnt by people maintaining and restoring older vehicles. If the government were to ban classics then the country would turn upside down...there'd be 100,000's of cars that would be rendered almost worthless (unless museum worthy!) so what would happen to them, dumped? Scrapped? *cough*stolen*cough* (for insurance), besides all the businesses out there specialising in parts and repairs for classics. I really can't see it happening but wouldn't put it past our government!! Alan's right about Jap cars too....they have to own a car younger than 10 years old (there are some exceptions but I don't know the exact ins and outs of it). *insert witty remark here* rogersausage.wordpress.com |
