I'll bring that Capacitor to ED on weds Jess if your gonna be there and still want it? Was at ED this week but didn't know you weren't gonna be there till half 8 so I left as it was pissin it down and I had shit to do.
Yeah i'll be there and yeah I still want it, how much?
10 squid, chucking in a distribution block as well that I dont want.

Although I've lost the charging bulb for the cap so I've got a 150 ohm resistor from work instead. If anyone has a charging bulb they can measure the resistance of and let me know I'll get one to match. 150 ohm should be fine though I reakon.
Ok sound. Don't know what it is like but Al told me to get it so i'll make sure he reads this as I ant got a clue what you're on about lol

Thanks you muchly Icon_cheesygrin

Also, someone rung me today about coming to look at her...in two minds about what to do, keep her and get a bigger engine in her, or flog her and buy a modded car that already has a decent engine.

Been looking at R5 Turbo's and the like, don't know what to do though...
R5 Turbo FTW, there great. Alot are run down piles of shit though, hence the reliability issues. No reason why they cant be reliable though. All these stories of head gaskets and over heating is down to poor maintenance and tuning. There is no ECU to control fuelling, just a carb, so alot get knackered by people fitting bleed valves and not keeping an eye on AFR's or charge temps. They may look complicated under the bonnet with hoses all over the place, but they have to be the most simple of cars to work on and cheap to fix.

And isnt that pizza hut night on this weds?? If so you wont be at ED will you? I'll be at kickboxing in Rainworth till 7:30, but will go ED after. Can bring the cap with me then or any other night really.
Well spotted, will probably go to ED afterwards though so yeah you can bring it with you if you want.

Still deciding whether to ring him back or not...the R5 is on ebay for a grand, many probably wouldn't like it but personal preference and all that Icon_wink
r5s are ace if you can get them to run right but they do blow up all the time
Mines only ever blown through pure abuse, and yours wasnt exactly running standard boost now was it?? Come to think of it, you did some work on my engine to, maybe thats the common denominator lol Icon_smile Seriously though, if left alone and well maintained theres no reason for them not to be reliable, and they are really easy to fix. The condition of the body and chassis is much more important IMO on these little French boxes.
Decided to take car to Galaxy tommorrow to see how much they'd give me for her.

Found a Pulsar for £1,950 and it sounds good. 72000km (43000) Miles, it has 12 month mot and 6 months tax and it's in Chesterfield, may go up and have a look at it 2moro if I can get intouch with him, anyone wanna come with?

£2500 fully comp on insurance on my own, might see if I can get it on my mums or something any cheaper.

Never rang that dude back up about coming to look at the Ka, wish I would of now Icon_sad
Well if you do, make sure you fully check round it or take someone who knows about them to look round it. And its not really the insurance I'd be to worried about. More the running costs/maintenance etc... Turbo'd Jap cars burn money not petrol. Icon_smile
I'd be soooo happy with a Pulsar, even if I could only afford to run it one day a week Icon_lol

Gunna try and find that dude's number in my received calls and give him a bell about the ka.
Gotta agree with Shane Jess; insurance is the last thing on your mind expense-wise when running a Jap turbo, especially once it gets to 15 years old. It's stuff you don't think about like £50 worth of oil every 6000 miles, clutch changes at £400-500 quid (it'll happen trust me!) and all the other niggly bits that bite you. I'm not trying to put you off, just making sure you're aware that Pulsars, GT4's, Imprezas etc etc were £25-30k new and if you're paying 2k for one there'll be some baggage at some point! As long as you're prepared to swallow it though it'll be fine.

My Celica was MOT'd, taxed etc when I bought it and drove fine on the journey home...so far I've spent nearly another £2000 getting it how I want.

Exhibit A....

Icon_lol

Just make sure it gets checked out properly before you buy it!!
Lollipop for whoever guesses what they are first...and don't say brakes.

They come a week on Tuesday Icon_cheesygrin
