The "S13" was made from 1988 - 1993 although it was facelifted in 1990(Sometimes called the 13a)
Imports were Silvias (q's and k's K's the kitted versions)
The C18DET was in the majority however the SR20 DET was in from 90/91 till 93
And less of the Jap Bitches...finally seeing sence are you Aiden?
1988 - 1994, facelifted 91/92 although some between these years will have a mix of parts from both pre and post facelift. Differences include interior, bigger brakes, lsd, front bumper.
all 180sx are sr20det (import)
all s13 200sx (uk) are ca18det.
Ollie you need to do some research dude.
The 14a was something dirived from people on forums Nissan never called there model a 14a..same thing
Was suprised about the engines i was sure some UK S13s had the Sr specially late models...my bad!
Lol, no it's not. It's just called the facelift.
180SX ftw!
And less of the Jap Bitches...finally seeing sence are you Aiden?
just researching options mate.
dont count on it though. ![]()
Basically it's Jack, Queen and King.
So a Silvia J's is the council spec shitbox, Q's has decent spec but no turbo and the K's is the one to go for complete with SR20DET instead of the SR20DE (n/a)
Personally, the PS13 is my favourite from the S13 family and has the more aggresive front end and "notchback" style rear, instead of the rounded RS13 shape that the UK 200SX is.
As far as the S13/S13a thing goes, it's the same as the S14. The official Nissan versions are Zenki and Kouki. Zenki is pre-facelift and effectively means "before" and Kouki is post-facelift, which roughly translates to "after".
some good info here tho!
some good info here tho!
Yeah, it can be a little confusing. That's the thing with Jap cars, so much more to them than Hitler and rust like Vee Dubs!!

Right, UK spec S13, pre-facelift (RS13 88-91 CA18DET):
UK spec S13, post facelift (RS13 91-93 CA18DET):

The RPS13 is the same as above, but JDM only and as of 1991 fitted with the 2.0 SR20DET, instead of the 1.8 CA18DET. Imported RPS and RS13's are all called the 180SX regardless of whether it has the 1.8 or 2.0 litre lump.
Import only PS13 (JDM tite, yo!):

Depending on year these came with either the CA18DET, SR20DE or SR20DET lump.
SilEighty:

The SilEighty is a hybrid made from a Silvia front and 180SX rear. In Japan when drifting was new and people were wrecking their shiny 180SX's, they soon realised it was a lot cheaper to replace the sheet metal with the cheaper Silvia front end. Nissan latched on to this and actually produced and official run of 500 cars in 1998.
There was however a Falken sponsored PS13 with an S14a front end. Man that was the sex
Just asking for the pics on SXOC.
Ive heard along with the common zenki and Kouki the word Chuki to describe a 13 - whats that translate too?
Chuki, that's another I've never heard of. Having said that, I know sod all about 13's as it is. Zenki ftw!
Chuki is an American derived term. Chuki means "middle" or "second" basically, and is the name they give to their facelifted version of the S13. In the US though it was called the 240SX as it used the 150bhp n/a 2.4 lump as found in the Nissan Vanette!
To the Yanks, the Kouki is the SR20DET engine'd 180SX Type X produced from 97-99 that they never received anyway (JDM only).
A Onevia is the opposite of a SilEighty, a 180SX bolted on to the front of a PS13 Silvia.
A gorgeous example of a "OneVia"...
