he was going to buy one last night for 1200 quid he only wants the car forthe engine and ecu etc for the conversion the condition of the car is imaterial
and does anyone know any good places for the conversion and how much approx for the labour???

firstly is it a mk4 mk3 mk2 or mk1 your putting it into?
im guessing its the mk3 from shineys with the body kit on it?
try jbs in chesterfield, for engines look on edition38.com under classifieds and ring round vw breakers etc,
at jbs you will be looking at quite a bit of cash to have the conversion done tbh, as it sounds like its mk3 it will be slightly easyer but also depends on what upgrades you will need to do to other bits n bobs tbh

the money doesnt really matter he isnt a cheapskate i just dont want him to get ripped off the garage nextdoor to shiny in sutton quoted him 800 minimum!!
he would happily pay as much money as it costs aslong as his car doesnt get fukd when putting in the engine or the engine last about a week...

hes done to much to the car to switch it from his golf to the vr6
he thought about that in the first place but seems easier to drop an engine in , ecu and all of the other different parts.

if so, ill be honest, get rid of the lexas lights.
for a vr in a mk3, it aint a bad job, becos the car was built to a hav a vr in it. U can get a whole front end from a vr for bout £900. A whole front end wud be needed to swap straight over, and wiring loom wud be needed i think. i rekon putting a vr in a mk3 cud easily be done at home on the front yard.

a supercharger would be a good plan, would have made his life easyer to get a vr6 to start with but saying that you could say that about me with my car lol
im going to be putting a vr6 into the mk4 possibly like they had in the states, depending on cost etc

the main reason he spent that much is because he had lambo doors on and they damaged his car hes paid thousands in resprays....

why did he have a whole respray from the lambo doors damaging the paint work surly they wont damage the roof boot and bonnet etc etc? would it not have been easyer to have just a respray of the damaged parts? especialy when black is very easy to colour match? not slating the bloke just some friendly advice, he may have had his pants pulled doen by the bodyshop telling him to have it all done when it more than likely didnt need it.

he got a full respray because it damaged his side skirts and the doors and because its quite low the front and back bumper had scuffs so he has it all done!!!
i can see why some people wouldnt like it thought he has taken away the dub ness!!
