Hi All,

I was called out to a detailing job on Saturday and didn't finish until early Sunday morning so total hours taken is roughly about 17 hours. but here is a step by step walk through.

A week before hand i went to view and inspect the car and can honestly say i was very excited to get my hands on this, but as it was, i knew this wasn't going to be any ordinary detail this was going to take a lot of time and effort.

I arrived on Friday morning with the car already out in the wonderful sun, the first task i did was to go around all the wheels and arch's with a degreaser mixed 5:1 to remove any stubborn dust or grime before i started and left to soak for 10 minutes.

While it was left to soak for 10 minutes i prepared the gilmour for use with 1 part snow foam, 1 part shampoo and the rest warm water,

Once i was happy with the amount of time with the degreaser soak time i thoroughly rinsed all the wheels and arch's.
Then came the stage of foaming up the car with the gilmour gun.

Then once again the foam is left to dwell for 10 minutes

Once it has been foaming for 10 minutes i rinsed it with the good old pressure washer and the prepared my washing buckets 2 bucket's of course1 bucket rinse with grit guard and one with shampoo Icon_smile

Now that the car was ready i started the wash on the wheels.

Once the wheels where washed to satisfactory level i moved onto the next stage, unfortunately because of the type of car and the wheels i was unable to remove the wheels from the car, although the arch's where scrubbed.

But anyway the next stage i decided to clay the wheels to make sure all contaminants have been removed.

After the wheels was clayed and all contaminants where removed i washed them again and then rinsed.

After this stage was complete i moved onto the car paintwork itself and started washing with the 2 bucket method and a trust washmitt

now that the car was washed 1st time over and rinsed it was time to dry which was done using the patting method.

After was all dry the paintwork felt very rough and could tell it had never been clayed before so on this instance i decided to use Sonus Grey Clay and start my paintwork prep stage.

By this stage the car was washed once again and then put in the shade ready to be dried and taped up ready for defect removal.

Once it had been dried it was time to be taped up with 3M 3434 tape

So the defect removal was ready to go! and out came the Menza IP which i felt was more suited for the job and yes i am very aware of the state of the cross on the pad...

So i started to work the polish in with speed 3 first before moving the pace up

happy with the removal of all defects i then moved onto glazing the paintwork and with this I used Megs #7 which i felt was the best suitable for the job.

Once completed it brought out the metal flake which was beautiful.
