Basically i think i might have an issue with my petrol, i put £20 in and got just under half a tank i've now done 100 miles of granny driving through town and the light as come on already. Now i am actually quite pleased at how far it as got me because from red light to a quarter of a tank back to red light i've only recently been getting 35 miles!!!!

My car is parked in the garage every night and there are no marks at all on the floor, so surely it can't be a leak? But what else could be causing it?

Its only a 1.2 aswell lol and i never trash it anywhere. It's starting to p**s me off a little now.

Any suggestions of what it might be would be great.

Thanks!

lol

well half a tank and only getting 100miles of granny driving?? im baffelled (sp) and its only a lawn mower engine lol

dude i think this credit crunch business is starting to hit everyone now and people are starting to notice it espcialy on fuel

my black 306 had a d-cat,filter, more fuel/boost etc and did 100 mils to £10 and my 306 is pretty much standard and has actualy had the fuel pump backed off o it runs lean (to save a few pennys) and im lucky if i get 60-70 miles to £10 now

might be something more mechanical but its always worth a thought
well everyone i've spoke to who have the same car as me are getting 250 - 350 miles per tank, where as im only getting 100miles to half a tank?
dude why dont you try filling tank up to top because its useless going by half and full tanks fill you tank up then you'll know for sure.

i wish i could do 100 miles to £20 if i granny drive i get 60-70 if i play i get about 40 so i wouldnt be moaning also body kits dont help tbh .

But get you car emission tested or fault code read could be running lean or a sensor out somehwere
i get just over 100 miles to £20 in my 325bmw....

somethin wrong somewhere

that is also where your issue is, town driving always drinks fuel even with the lightest of feet on the pedal Icon_rolleyesIcon_cry

i got a grand total of about 300 miles to a full tank in 306 and it cost £80 to fill... its the price of petrol dude
Might be due to the fact of stupid prices of petrol mate but when I had my corsa i used to get around 150 miles to half a tank, but i used to fill it to the top when i filled it up.
Town driving is no good for fuel economy. Lots of stopping and starting.

Need to fill your tank as mentioned.

Don't think about the cost of money getting you miles, think of how far you going with the petrol in the tank. Obviously 5 years ago you would get 100miles to £10 but now that 100miles costs almost £20. It's not that it costs more for miles its that your £ doesn't get you as much petrol.
Try and watch your right foot, if you speed up and then break hard alot then you will use more petrol.

£20 your getting about 17.5ltr, doing 100 miles, your mpg will be around 26.

Looking at the figures on a std 1.2 corsa you should be getting 44mpg, but then with the body kit etc on that.

I would say try and put £20 in again and keep an eye on your driving, try and use the highest gear you can, if your still getting crap mpg then take it in to a garage to be looked at.
I get about 100 miles to £20, witch is about half a tank

I'd say the same for yours too, std you should be getting 36/37mpg

I gave myself a full tank Sunday... £60... it was on on empty yesterday, got roughly 150 miles!

I would love to get 100 miles to £20!!!
