Tbh i dont wanna spend to much sorting this as the engines being ripped out soon as my engines rebuilt.
ill pm you
i understand what they mean if your coolant sensor is at fault then it will make the ECU think the engine has not warmed up therefore the ECU will run rich,

did you change both O2 sensors ? although ecu`s are common faults on those

Both 02 sensors been changed yes, Pre has been done twice.

Coolant sensor's never came up on the obd2 scanner, and ive never had temp problems though, always comes up when warmed up.

may not come up with a fault but if there cheap enough may be worth trying one before you do an ECU but the ECU`s on them are very very common faults for high emissions
did you use a universal lamda if you did they dont work on ecotec engines.in all fairness i carnt see it being a ecu problem
valid point from nez, try the coolant sensor change, and dont skimp with non genuine parts cos there crap!

went through 3 AFM when my ECU died, put a vaux one on and no problem since, even after new ecu!!

if it is the ECU this is what it cost me....
ECU for Z18XE vauxhall corsa from Vauxhall
Part Number: 2444 3879
price: £727 = vat (£855)
programming: upto £105 + vat
Nez:
I thought was the ECU

nigescalli:
Nope the lambda is from vauxhall in daybrook

Dan:
Goignt o unplug coolant sensor on monday, get emissions tested!

If it doesnt pass, both lambda's, afm. ecu kit aswell.
Problem = ECU. Earth is ****ed on it by the looks, its been looked at for 5 hours. Ground loop, seems.
so where from now.

repair or replace.

buy a shitter whilst ya do engine swap?

Not so simple, not got all bits and need to rebuild engine.

Need:
Bolts for engine
Gasket Set
Rebuild it
Intercooler
Boost pipes
Off side mount

Time & Money

gutted Ky!

its the exact same fault as mine had just before donny this year! basically the ECU has poor solder on the board, because its located on the intake manifold it gets red hot and melts, combined with engine vibration the solder eventually moves and in this case (same as mine) it catches another connection and causes a ground loop (spiked is the technical term)

hope ya get it sorted mate, and if ya can manage to get the ECU at the price ya said then ya laughin (or re-conned)

that price i posted above is the Vaux model and price, they changed all 1.8 ecu part numbers so thats the only one ya need to ask for now.... i got a brand new one with 2 year warranty for £350 delivered next day....
surely if thats the prob i can be re soldered ?
