Does anyone know any shops where Wardo can get a manual bleed valve type boost controler? Ebay sell them but he wants one for the weekend.

Or does anyone have one lying about that they dont need?

Has anyone had any problems wioth these type of valves? And how much more boost do you think would be safe to squeeze out of the subaru? Its running at 0.8 - 1bar boost at the mo.

He says thanks, and dont forget to Feed the horse! Icon_cheesygrin
scoobyclinic would they do them?
I got mine from Apex Performance Laura bout £35 scooby forums will be able to tell you safe boost

Tell him to speak to nez too!
sum wher like scooby clinic and nitro performance will have them in surely,
TBH...Ebay ones will do the job

I THINK Wardo bought a boost gauge from nationals, but if not Laura make sure he gets one of them!
tell him to ring me tomorrow
Make sure it's the type that has a locking nut on it, there are a few about on eBay that haven't. Over time vibrations can cause it to adjust itself and over boost.

I've got one on mine but will be throwing it straight in the bin as soon as I've saved for an EBC.

I'm pretty sure D has one lying around, maybe worth an ask..........
Hope he`s confident the maf`s ok first loz, personally meself on a uk turbo around our yrs(99/00) especially wouldnt recommend it, if in doubt go on scoobynet an say youre putting a bleed valve on it,they`ll be a load of comments bk sayin dont do it,upping the boost on a scooby without a remap is a serious no no in my opinion but up to him at the end of the day.

Mine runs about 15psi peak maybe holds 13/14 an its plenty quick/reliable enough(for what a uk turbo is)

Wouldnt try an get more out of it the cheap way as in the end prices of these when they go wrong arent like ya r5`s rs turbo`s etc which folks used to chuck bleed valves on-up to wardo but i wouldnt do it.

Would also put most off buying it,so if he gets one tell him to take it off before he sells it as they`re looked on as being a bad thing.

Only option in my eyes is a proper boost controller.
think i have a couple some where
i got 1 off my 200 if he still needs 1 or i could ask mike at area 52(scoobymania)
Hello my fellow horse feeders.

Got one today from Nitro Performance. Fitted it round a Disco Stu's and had a play with it.

Found out what a fuel cut actually does!

Can only have it open by the tinyest bit otherwise the fuel cut comes in at high revs. Its running at 1 - 1.1bar max now, but considering the tiny bit its open, it feels like it boosts a lot more solidly than it did.

I was a bit wary of it after reading some of the comments off various sites, but its one of those things I had to try. Ive tried it, and im still a bit unsure of its reliability, so I spoke to the bloke at Nitro Performance who is getting me a price together for an ECU flash plus whatever else it needs to do things properly. Its all down to saving some cash now.

Thanks to Nez for sending me to Nitro Performance, Disco Stu for helping me fit it, get it set up and explainig why the car was acting how it was at 1st and putting my mind at ease.

Watch this space for more BHP.
Ya can get fuel cut defenders to be fair that makes the fuel cut point adjustable or non existent however you`d have to be confident of air/fuel ratio meanwhile.
Yeah im not fitting one of them untill i get it all sorted, mapped and flashed or whatever. Fuel cuts for a reason IMO.
Irrespective of fuel cut on our yr scoobys mafs are really unpredictable-dont think you only need to see fuel cut to fcuk it up could be running lean already before ya play with the boost-if ya do get it remapped its ideal but aint cheap.

I had a new maf on mine a couple of yr ago an even then didnt throw a faultcode-were hunting really bad on tickover- though dont always show obvious signs of bein nackered puzzles old scooby fooked 2 engines up as even subaru themselves didnt diagnose it car ran fine at the time however were running lean-sold the car after 2nd time as it were getting towards the end of warranty luckily(car were bought from a subaru dealer)
