Ok guys.. from time to time we do a "you have £10,000 to spend" bla bla game.. And lets face it..
They get a bit boring!!
I had an idea the other day..
So here go's!
You have to go back in time, far far back... no... FURTHER back.. to when god was a lad.. and to when most of you had your FIRST CAR!
Now - imagine you NEVER SOLD IT...
And you spent ALL the money that you have spent on ROAD GOING cars you have owned, on your FIRST CAR!
You CANNOT include the money you have spend BUYING cars since then.. Just the money spent ON the cars you have had from your first car to the present day!
Understand?
Ok i will go first!
Car: Nissan Micra K10

Calculated amount spent on cars since then to present day: £10,000
Projected Spec of 1st Car:
I would have the engine and running gear from a pulsar slammed in, with uprated brakes and custom coilovers.. (make it RWD too)
Stripped out interior with two fixed bucket seats and a roll cage..
Perspex windows
Small wide steel rims..
I'd say that was about £10k if not more!
Your turn!

Car: 1969 Ford Escort
Calculated amount spent on cars since then to present day: approx £25,000 (shit!!

)
Projected Spec of 1st Car:
Engine; SR20DET engine conversion, forged bottom end, Garret GT3076 turbo, Tomei Pon cams, Nismo 740cc injectors, FMIC, Motec management. Circa 500bhp.

Suspension; Coillovers front and rear (rear mounts relocated and turreted), four link and watts linkage.
Brakes; AP 6 pots and vented discs at the front, Cosworth rear disc conversion.

Body; Bubble arched, painted ermine white with black bonnet (works Twin Cam style).
Wheels; 17" magnesium Minilites.
The engine conversion would be a pain but I reckon by covering a lot of the labour myself it'd come in well under budget

And what an escort that would be!!!!!

Fiat Punto Sporting 1.2 16v
Bodywork:
Would have fitted the Abarth sideskirts, Type K rear bumper, and smooth boot panel I had sat in the garage for it, along with a "sally" type bumper, looks standard with a splitter on, bonnet raiser blocks and cool louvres to put vents in the bonnet.

Fiat Coupé 20 turbo front discs and Brembo calipers
Engine:
Fiat Coupe 20v turbo lump, usual mods, exhaust, de-cat, filter chip etc.

Interior: Stripped apart from dash, 2 Scheele racing buckets, Schroth harnesses and Halda twinmaster timing gear
Estimated cost: £35k (and I was 75% of the way to having it built 2 years ago ....wibble wibble)
This is much more fun than your usual v-building of a car

ALTHOUGH if i ever actually used my mini, it would have had a B16A2 v-tec motor in it by now.
You dont have to spend £10,00 if its more, aidan..
Is that how much u waxed on cars?
You dont have to spend £10,00 if its more, aidan..
Is that how much u waxed on cars?
would be somewhere near close mate. basically i spend every penny i earn on cars, fags and beer. but cars the most.
im going try figure out what iv spent now.
nah works out that actually modding cars owes me at around 6 grand. fuck me, iv only bin driving for 2 1/2 years.
Mad when you add it up isnt it!
Car: Fiat Uno 60S
Rough estimate of amount spent since: 38-40k (35k of receipts)
Mods: Leave it standard, go to pub. Really cant think of anything I'd want to do to an Uno ever again other than set fire to the Italian piece of shit that it was.
Car: Unfortunately I started with a Pauxhall Camels Ear with a 1300cc powerplant wooooooo!
Don't want to guess what I've spent over 18 years.
Mods: For the money I've got to spend I recon Nasa or someone could turn it into some sort of Transformer for me with the ability to fly and fight evil. It would need a cup holder. From memory it never had a cup holder. grrrrr.
Alanman
hahaha
any more?
or are you all too embarresed to say what first car you had?
alans even admitted owning a Vx!
i had a mk3 escort about 18 years ago. unfortunately i refuse to add up what i've spent on cars. i about shit myself when i started adding up what had last been spent on the escort before it got stripped.
needless to say it would probably be 4x4 running gear, probably cossie powered, with enough audio to breathe for you.
