quie speechless after watching that video, im sure he must be gutted as him and the orange evo seemed to leading b quite a distance, and did any1 else notice a lot of smoke on full boost in 2nd and 3rd gear.

Can't say I noticed the smoke, I just fast forwarded it to where he stacks it. It definitely backs up his "brake failure" statement though, you can see him pump the pedal 2 or 3 times as goes in to the bend.

the smoke on full boost was just fuel as it was doing it all the way through.. anyway there is no way that car had standard stoppers on it imo anyway, someone like norris doing time attack and standard brakes no chance, the car was no where near standard anyway sounded to me like it had uprated turbo and ext wastegate bare minimum whatever else ie suspension ecu and all that just seems strange the brakes could 100 % fail so quick

Apparently the brakes were the ones off of the Green Evo hes got from reading the thread on MLR, someone said about the brake fluid he had used had absorbed moisture and the wet boiling point of the fluid was way too low for the brakes.

Worth havin a look on 22b.com for anyone who thinks they know about cars........trouble is ya can lose track of time on some threads-few of the guys are regulars to scoobynet etc but not all, some incredibly knowledgeable ppl/tuners etc-ref the norris incident

TBF I doubt many people on here would even see temps even the fluid Norris was using, but a good quality fluid would never go a miss in any vehicle.
I'll defintley be looking into the Motul I used after I fit the Wilwoods to mine for sure.

Simon Norris has very very bad luck
As for him paying for the damage. As he was in a proper MSA saloon car championship race he would have had full motorsport insurace

I'm not so sure, I've had a quick scout through the threads on PistonHeads and the Lancer register and can't see a mention of insurance, just "sorry the other guy had his car written off".
All of our rounds are MSA governed too but we wouldn't get a penny if someone crossed lanes and side-swiped us.
If he in insured then I'd be interested to read about the in's n out's of it.
