Just wondered exactly what everyone's views are on the whole having a place for us to go where we could park up, regularly, and have either very low or free admission costs..
In reality, its possible - there would just have to be a few things needed in order for it to work.
For starters, certain areas of it - like maybe a basic 1/4 mile strip - would have to be an insurance void area. So its a take it on at your own risk jobby. An on site first aid and basic fire service could be provided and paid for by either the council, or by money raised by certain amenities such as on site food and maybe even petrol..
We spoke to a pretty influential person who deals with the future big developments of the mansfield area and when we suggested something like this to him and mentioned getting funding from the government/council in order to create it, he replied;
"if it would benefit the area by providing jobs, bringing money into the area, and solving certain "problems" in the local area, then show me some ideas on paper"
By problems, he obviously meant things like J27 and general car cruising..
So that was most definitely not a NO
and that means to me that if we came up with a solid idea, and proposed it to him then we might be able to actually have something to visit, nearby, that would allow everyone to do whatever they want and not get bothered by the fuzz
There's a simple poll, please vote even if you cant be arsed to post
please tell other people to register and vote so we can get a good general idea of the people in our areas thoughts so that we can see if it would be worth pursuing
I know it kinda sounds a bit much, to expect that of a council, but if you think about it it would benefit the area in a big way - think of the media coverage and appeal it would have to people like us up and down the country..
Its a big deal for everyone involved really
Thanks
