Right, i love my car BUT at the end of the day she's slow...simple as. And i really wanna take her down the strip at Fast Show but i just simply cannot be arsed with the humiliation as ive seen some of the beasts what go down there and mine isn't a patch on them!!

I'm gonna get back seats and subs out before i go down (not permanent) as i know back seats and 2 15's in back arn't gunna help my time 1 bit!! but what else can i do to her for now just to lighten her up a little? but that won't cause damage to anything as i'm not going for the stripped out look just yet.

I've come to the point now where i'm just stuck with what to do next!! any ideas people???

In the long term getting the turbo back on her is an option im really warming to at the minute as it only takes my insurance up by £220, but does anyone know where i can get a van aaken turbo for a ka from as this is what was on her last time and they don't make them anymore OR a good garage that will sort me a custom jobbo out???

This is the same turbo that was on mine before...

It is a Garatt T15 turbocharger, the output of the engine is increased to a claimed 84 PS and 142 Nm and the boost pressure is restricted to 0·35 bar so apparently it does not need an intercooler.

Obviously i would not physically be able to afford to do this before the fast show as i'm going magaluf in June and i can't do both!! But besides a turbo and a complete engine transplant (which is also an option, but what engine??) what else can be done to her for the future??

and for those of u out there that are failing to mature at the minute (u know hu u r) don't bother putting "scrap it", "sell it" or anything along the lines of getting rid of her 'cos it's not happenin yet!!

Thanks, Jess xx
puma engine?
Jess, i went down in the punto, teddy has ran the ibiza and Lee Westwoods corsa took 21 seconds!

Until you get serious its all about the experiance unless your are interested in tuning and performance then the times are irrelevent!

Take it up at Fast show and have fun, enjoy "Pod Leg" and go for it.
If you're purely interested in strip times Jess, have you considered a squirt of nitrous? You're engine would easily take a 30bhp shot without any bother and with a timing controller you could add some more. Pound for pound you can't beat a squirt of gas if you want to add some horsepower.

Like Ollie says though, it's best to dip you're toe in the water and just have a go before you commit to anything too drastic. As he mentioned, just turn up and have a good time. The thing with drag racing is that there's always going to be someone quicker and faster and if you get too involved with et's before you know it you'll be selling your car to finance a set of billet con-rods for your race engine......oh hang on.....shit.
Running up the strip at a busy car show is a massive buzz,

I took my 106 up the strip and the time i got was no where near what it should have been. But, i enjoyed every second of the 16.2 i got. it was mint!!!!

Just turn up, sign on and have fun.
Hear hear!

Dont worry about your speed at the mo..

The sweat running down your face into your eyes, and the adrenalin pulsing through your veins will make you forget all about the time.. Icon_lol

You'll think your going fast anyway Icon_smile

Just take out as much stuff as you can, and run down with half a tank of petrol Icon_smile
The thing to remember in drag racing is to run your own race, just do your own thing and forget what the guy in the other lane is doing. If you get too wrapped up in what the person in the other lane is up to or what Mr X ran then it'll spoil the experience. Like I said, there's always someone quicker and faster anyway. On the flip side, there's always someone slower too so there's no need to worry about embarrassing yourself or anything like that.
The longer it takes you the more value for money your getting Icon_biggrin

I took mine on in 05 as i thought id love it.. but it didn't do much for me and haven't been on since.. instead i prefer going around corners wrecking syncro's, tyres and brakes Icon_twisted

So in my case a try before i brought was a good idea...
Corners? Pfft...........Icon_lol
Jess if your serious about going on the pod as your car is then i'll happily do it aswell, therefore if we both run at the same time and get shit times it doesn't matter.

Vauxhall V Ford
Corsa V kA
Male V Female
1.2 V 1.3

Bring it on!!!!! lmao
there you go jess - sorted!

do a few runs up the pod before you tear your car to bits - you never know, you might hate it! Icon_smile
i riped a car to bits and i never been dow the pod
And if you do like it you can start saving for one of these........
