Right
Im gonna have a go at getting the paintwork on the Nissan Even cleaner than it is now by giving it a full clay bar treatment
Problem is....
A. I have never used clay bar so not too sure the best way to apply
and
B. My Beloved Auto Glym dont do Clay so i need a product and detailer i can trust to do the job
?
i need to get mine done to. ask dan he has used it on his clio.
I use meg's claybar with their speed detailer for the lubricant.
Did a really good job and the paint feels and looks ultra sexy afterwards.
An alternative to megs would be the poorboys bar that alot of the French car forums cleaning whores are raving bout atm
Where can i buy poorboys from?
i bought megs clay kit from phil/RRD (at maxxd rates)
comes with clay bar and quick detailer spray for between £9 - £12.....
if anyones felt my paintwork its shocking!!! put 2 fingers inside the clear wrapper on a fag packet and rub it over your paint.... you can feel EVERY inperfection in the paint finish.... then clay it and do it again.... i was proper shocked how well it works!!!!
Thanks
TBH the paint on the Nissan aint bad, after polish and extra gloss it comes up reall well but a couple of areas have picked up the contamination that clay removes
Thanks Matty im gonna go with Sonus it comes out well on detailing world forums
Im gonna have a blast monday if the weather is good i shall let you know what happens
my paint looks clean and shiny ollie, but once you go ove it with fag paper you feel everything! have a feel after you clay it, you will be shocked....!
But i dont smoke!

You'll be surprised how much of the car will be contaminated, I did my mums Corsa which is only 3 and half years old, never been done before though, the clay looked black after every panel I did, hence needing a new bar.
whats the idea behind the clay bar, I've never understood it?

i think its shit that is stuck 'in' your paint, that cant even be seen gets removed, thus leaving a smooth, shinny paint finish!
basically, when you wash your car you remove the surface dirt thats on top of the paint.... but any contaminents that have settled on it stay within the paints finish. when you use a clay bar and lubricant it causes the inbed dirt to stick to the clay. so by rubbing the clay in the same way you would polish/wax the car and cover the dirt, you actually remove it and obtain better paint finish.
when you park under a tree and get sap on the body, when you wash it it comes off, but some of the residue (sp) will have eaten into the paint so although it looks clean to the eye, there will still be dirt there (which clay remove)
