im going to buy some to see what its like, how much and where from?

Im gonna give the Meguires a try you get the full pack for around 12 quid
Make sure you use it properly and you need a good few hours free as you will need to wash and polish the car after to get rid of residue.
Im going to do a full "Detail" on monday providing the forecast is ok - it usually takes around 4 hrs to do my car without claying so im expecting 6-7 hrs

it makes a world of difference when you do it for the 1st time! and provided you seal the paint with a good wax/polish afterwards then it should last a good while!
thats where people fall foul when cleaning the car, they may wash and leather, but if you dont seal the paintwork its open to contaminents.... so for what it takes to polish each time its worth it....
megs kit retails around £12 for quick detailer spray and quik clay, well worth the money!

do they remove rust spots? lol!
I might have a go at this then, keep me out of trouble for a day!
I bet it one of those jobs that when you start it you regret it, lol!

sonus green clay is probably the best at not a silly price, the meguire clay is pants to be honest, as it comes in only one grade, and you realy need different grades for different things

It's all too confusing for me!
Ask them all to send test samples for us to try in order to bulk buy?

i used the meguiars clay kit today and once the car had been gone over with the cleaner wax afterward i could really tell how good that stuff is, use megs gold class wax to finish for best results.
took a good few hours and it rained half an hour after but oh well thats life lol

I'm 99% certain you can get the Meguiars clays in different grades, but IMO the grading system on clays is massively overkill. Clay, or don't clay. And it's worked for me for ages.

:hi: Think I'll disagree there

It's all down to opinion and what you can do. I love Megs because I get great results. It's not the best around, but it's certainly not "wank" by any standard.

I need to try a clay bar out, usually use megs 3 step system with paint cleaner, polish and wax. Tried some Simoniz polish today, was utter crap. Left paint pretty dull. I'll have a crack with a clay bar, but I need a respray.

i went out and bought some of the sonus fine green clay along with the megs nxt quick detailer for lube. took me ages to do my car but was worth the time, effort and money spent on the stuff. i finished off with megs stage 2 polish followed by megs nxt wax. the paint has come up amazingly well, its made the metallic show up loads and the pearl shows through very nicely.
i would deffinately recommend having a go to any1 thats thinking about it but you need the weather to hold out and about 5-6 hours to spare.
