i never really did want sell the stripped out car. i was gonna pop the engine into an XR2 & sell on everything else in parts form. But, the shells in a lot better condition than expected & if i live in the real world, i haven't got time for that type of conversion.
bit more time this weekend & it may see the road. fucking sick of wiring though!

right, update time.
finally driven the car. fuck it's noisey.
my brakes have come, they look sweet. if i've got all the correct adaptors to fit the calipers, may well be going on the sunday. what should be happening on sunday if the removal of the anti-lock brakes. frankly they're a toss system & so are gonna be by-passed & removed. with that done & the new front end stuff, should be good.
roll on sunday night.
i also still need to do a load of wiring in the engine bay. there's shed loads of redundant wire still bound into all the looms. this all so needs to go.

one last thing, my pod for the boost gauge still hasn't come.
chased it up & got
"yeah sorry we're waiting on the manufacturer. should be in early next week."
translation,
"we're shit, that's why we're cheap. just because our website says we have stock, don't mean we have."
bumholes.

thought i'd attack the problem with the heater matrix today. basically, coming back form italy it finally packed up & would only blow cold air.
i decided that the best cause of action was to force water through the matrix to see if it was blocked. so, i removed a hose from either end & with nickie taking control of the hose pipe (insert dirty comment here lol) we pumped water through it in both direction until it appeared to run free.
we did it in both directions (insert more filth here) just to sure there was nothing left inside the matrix.
left the car to warm up, which seems to take ages, so i guess i need a new thermostat & the heaters now seem to blow warm again.
fingers crossed, problem solved.

right. clocks next........
just need to change one of the buttons when i'm arsed. maplins didn't have a blue one in stock, so had to put a black one in a temporary measure.

they're a little bright at night.

actually, the spare wheel isn't there anymore.
i had a slow puncture on the front, so took it to be mended.
bastard alloy was cracked. hence, no spare anymore. (since been to scrapyard & got a steelie & part worn for £15.)
still, i shouldn't moan. had the alloys about 8 years.

boost gauge comes in 2 parts.
first, making a bulb, as the whole back light fitting is missing from this collins one i found kicking about in the garage.

some white LEDs were glued together

then glued into the bulb holder hole in the back of the gauge

then finally neatened up with heat-shrink & a suitable hose connector fitted.

ps - sorry for the shit photos
