yh i pm'd the lad about 30 secs after it was up for sale. he said hes had 9 offers but will offer it me first. he wants £150 for it, i no its more weight but if im going round the track i want some proctection.

told him i will pay askin price and pick it up saturday, just waiting for a pm to say he agrees to it. it aint the best of cages, but ok for £150. just the rear but i think u can get add ons for it.

pickin the cage up tommoro morning, gettin it fitted tommorow afternoon. also he has a steering wheel and boss kit. gunna see wot its like and a may have that too.

There are templates on the RR to build a rear defuser for the 106 to combat the problem with the rear bumper acting a dam.. saves cutting things up

got the cage in, just needs to be bolted downings.

Looks like the OMP cage ? isn't it suppose to have the box sections welded in , then bolted to them ? Otherwise if it does go over it would just puncture through the shell.. ?

dunno mate, got it off fuzzy orange off 106 owners, hes told me they just get bolted in to the arches and behind seats. im not welding it mike im bolting it.

There normally called bolt-in ... but still require the box sections welding in which you then bolt the cage to..



Normally you weld in box sections like that then bolt the cage to the box section,

Or some you just need to weld plates to the car to strenghten the mounting points that your going to bolt to :




My understanding is that if you don't and you do roll it, the cage will just be pushed through the underside of the shell and the cage will be of no use.

Best place to ask is RR allot of them use the OMP cages.

yeh he said summet bout them plates, tbh mate i havnt got the cage for anything more than looks. im hoping not to roll it lol. i no u can get bolt on parts for these? any idea where to get them from?

its all fitted now, me and olly took about 2 hours getting in to fit, was a pain when we had to take off the fuel pipe by disconnecting the filler cap, also the brake lines had to be moved a bit. but its all sorted now
