I've got an issue with my steering, everytime i turn hard i get a fuuny/wierd noise coming form the steering column i think.
As anyone got any idea what it could be?
It also happens when im just standing and i turn the wheel form left to right i get a strange noise, sounding like its coming from the steering wheel or column.
I had a quick look at the steering column and i have a part on there from mitsubishi (i drive a vauxhall) which seems a little strange.
Don't worry Mitsubishi make more than just cars, sounds like you've got a problem with the Electronic Power Steering on the car, whats the noise sound like?
Screeching, banging etc?
When you put the car on full lock though the pump will whine anyway, and if you've got a slipping belt it'l squeak its tits off.
I can't really describe the noise its like a moaning kinda noise, its hard to explain tbh
I've just been out to the car and had another listen its like a rattling sound.
Nothing is loose in the engine bay/around the wheel arches is there?
elliminate the simple possibilities first
Electronic power steering motor mate (EPS light on ya dash)
theres a sensor half way down the rack, if its under warranty get it back in cos there about
check you power steering level first if you think is from the steering if the level is low you have a leak. does your steering feel heavier than normal ? does is feel notchy ? drop me a pm if you want me to repair is or just even take a look ( no charge for looking lol )
there electronic nez, no fluid, just a motor.....
dave had a grinding noise from his steering wheel in the polo..
it was the disk that connects all the electrical shit on the steering wheel, as your wheel turns they couldnt have wires so have a disk that turns instead..
worth a try if its not the electronic power steering motor
there electronic nez, no fluid, just a motor.....
my bad was skim reading lol
