Yeah, it can be a little confusing. That's the thing with Jap cars, so much more to them than Hitler and rust like Vee Dubs!! Icon_lol tounge

Right, UK spec S13, pre-facelift (RS13 88-91 CA18DET):

UK spec S13, post facelift (RS13 91-93 CA18DET):

The RPS13 is the same as above, but JDM only and as of 1991 fitted with the 2.0 SR20DET, instead of the 1.8 CA18DET. Imported RPS and RS13's are all called the 180SX regardless of whether it has the 1.8 or 2.0 litre lump.

Import only PS13 (JDM tite, yo!):

Depending on year these came with either the CA18DET, SR20DE or SR20DET lump.

SilEighty:

The SilEighty is a hybrid made from a Silvia front and 180SX rear. In Japan when drifting was new and people were wrecking their shiny 180SX's, they soon realised it was a lot cheaper to replace the sheet metal with the cheaper Silvia front end. Nissan latched on to this and actually produced and official run of 500 cars in 1998.

I was just about to post the same batch of information as you but then noticed the page 2. I can't stand PS13's lol. I think they look daft. It's the same with the Sil80 front end, I think it looks rubbish!

There was however a Falken sponsored PS13 with an S14a front end. Man that was the sex Icon_biggrin

Just asking for the pics on SXOC.

we havent even gone into sil80's or onevia's Icon_wink

Ive heard along with the common zenki and Kouki the word Chuki to describe a 13 - whats that translate too?

1. Top 100 Show Car 2. 13 sec 250+bhp RWD monster 3. Daily runabout well detailed 4. New Toy..The Track Car - but i know fuck all about this scene........

Understeer: when you hit the wall with the front of the car.
Oversteer: when you hit the wall with the back of the car.
Horsepower: how fast you hit the wall.
Torque: how far you take the wall with you.

Sil80's were just factory runs with the PS13 front end. Never heard of Onevia mate, what's that?

Chuki, that's another I've never heard of. Having said that, I know sod all about 13's as it is. Zenki ftw!

I've already covered the SilEighty!

Chuki is an American derived term. Chuki means "middle" or "second" basically, and is the name they give to their facelifted version of the S13. In the US though it was called the 240SX as it used the 150bhp n/a 2.4 lump as found in the Nissan Vanette! Icon_lol

To the Yanks, the Kouki is the SR20DET engine'd 180SX Type X produced from 97-99 that they never received anyway (JDM only).

A Onevia is the opposite of a SilEighty, a 180SX bolted on to the front of a PS13 Silvia.

A gorgeous example of a "OneVia"...

there used to be a ps13 in meden vale, me and bishop were coming home from work once and we heard some squelling metel on metel sound i bricked it (just done a big 315 mm front disc conversion on my astra so i thought the worse) looked up the road past warsop church and here is this ps13 coming down the road straight like but its offside or nearside front wheel is turned ful lock away from the car, i was amazed with the car how it just kept going forwords he was nearly home for fuck sakeit was awesome.. anyway we follow him coz we kinda knw him lookig out for him if he gets worse he eventually stops gets out, i think hewas incredible oblivious he stunk of booze so obviously drink driving and piled it into a curb... took him home gets to hree lions pub and hes like stop stop come on in boys ill buy u a pint, we didnt go in and needless to say ive never seen the car again.... quite miffed as i would have proberly gave him an offer on it.

kouki and zenki are not nissan only terms they mean former and latter respectivly ie facelifts pre - facelifts

Yeah, Zenki and Kouki are just Japanese words, however they were the official showroom terms and name designations for the respective S13 and S14 versions, where as I don't think other manufacturers actually coined the words properly.
