RE: *Member* Clare's BigCab
Alan, will you be doing the stem seals using a comprssor to hold the valves up?
I have seen it done by using an old spark plug (ceramic broken off and end removed so it has a hole through) with a welded on air hose fitting. You fit the plug, attach the air and it saves loads of time.
Don't have the plug tool but I do have a compressor if you need one. Could ask Gary Bunting on Creswell Industrial Estate if he has the tool or make your own

No mate, I've alway just set the engine to TDC for 1 and 4 (IIRC) then opposite for the other two.
I have heard people use compressors but never done it that way.

RE: *Member* Clare's BigCab
Nearly fucked up big time Saturday. I went in garage to tidy BigCab and hoover etc ready for the show the next morning but looked across bonnet and saw the poor reflection of strip light. It'll never be 100% because its fibreglass but I noticed that it had gone a bit flat compaired to the rest of the paintwork.
So without thinking I attacted it with 1200 wet n dry. But the problem came when I turned round for the buffer and it wasnt there. It's Darryl's and he'd taken it back. Doh!
Luckily there was a buffer head on the shelf so end up using that attatched to the drill fixed in place with masking tape. Took a bit longer that normal but it did work luckily.
Its got a lovely shine now, good enough for another 1st place trophy in Sheffield anyway.
